Capturing evidence of British values

The facts...

The Department for Education (DfE)  have published new guidance on promoting British values in schools. Until now schools have been required to "respect" these values. Now, both independent and state-maintained schools will be required by the government to "actively promote" them. Ofsted and the independent inspectorates will take this into account during inspections.

How we can help…

Over the last five years we've helped hundreds of schools capture evidence of SMSC in the work they’re already doing. We agree with Russell Hobby, of the NAHT, who in response to this latest guidance said... "our advice for most members is: don’t do anything new, make sure you capture and describe the good work you are already doing".

This 60 second video shows just how quick and easy this can be achieved using SMSC GridMaker.

If you’re not already using SMSC GridMaker to capture evidence of British values in your school and you’d like more information about getting started - please get in touch.
